Nonito Donaire Jr. Donates 100 Homes to Typhoon Yolanda Victims

One of the Philippines' boxing champion, Nonito Donaire Jr who's the WBA interim flyweight world champion recently proved that he has a soft heart for the less fortunate. That is because he turned over around 100 houses to the poor victims of Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) in Lemery, Iloilo.

The Super Typhoon touched down the country where several people lost homes, property, and even loved ones. It was known as one of the strongest typhoons ever recorded in history. The destruction it brought was so critical that the rehabilitation has yet to come full circle.

The Filipino champ on his way to Greg Secker Village, as he turns over 100 houses to the victims.

Donaire, better known as the Filipino Flash, supported Yolanda victims together with the help of English businessman Greg Secker and his foundation. They establish what is now called “Build a House, Build a Home” project which aims to give home and shelter to the said victims in Iloilo.

Here is an aerial view of the 100 homes from the helicopter.

Donaire also shared his excitement on his official Facebook page, seemingly stoked with the life-changing help he is providing. It is worth noting, however, that this is not Donaire’s first effort in helping the needy.

A couple years back, he also donated a whopping million pesos to help fund a certain housing project for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy (international name Ketsana).
Indeed, Donaire is a champ with a huge heart!

It is really inspiring to see iconic figures helping other people. It only proves that they are always ready to share whatever they have. To you, Mr. Donaire, just keep doing what you are doing! You are truly an inspiration, sir
